Day 1: Perseverance Wall

Goal:

Motivate by acknowledging positive behaviors and perseverance when tasks get difficult

Materials:

• Chart Paper
• Markers

Instructions:

The Perseverance Wall is a kind of graffiti wall. It is placed on the wall and used throughout the week.

1. Explain to students this will be our wall to acknowledge your hard work. It’s hard to do hard things, but you can. So, we are acknowledging your work throughout this week.
2. Students may explain how they persevered aloud BEFORE signing the wall or write 1-2 short sentences describing how they persevered through a tough situation.
3. As students show perseverance throughout the day, acknowledge and give students the opportunity to sign the wall.
